Sandbox! Most Fun Open World Games

I love a deep, engaging story as much as the next idiot, but sometimes I just want to drive around, break some things, shoot some other things, and blow yet other things up. So, in the spirit of celebrating all that is dumb and immediate, here are some games that provide a fun sandbox experience. Some have a great optional story, some have a terrible story, and others have no story at all.

Watch Dogs 2
This under-rated open world game gives you an array of fun skills and gadgets. And when you're sick of making pedestrians' phones blow up, you can always drive a forklift down the highway.
Watchdogs 2 is one of the best games of all time. Hands down from driving around on motor bikes to hacking into security cameras this game has it all. Join the famous hacking group DedSec and pull off the biggest hacking job in history.

Far Cry 5
Any of the main line Far Cry games could go on this list. FC5 Is for sure more of the same, but improvements in driving control, scenery, and just general emergent open world weirdness and mayhem make this an instant favorite!
Set in Hope County Montana. Home to some crazy wild animals but also a dangerous doomsday cult called Edens Gate. Wage war against Joseph Seed and his cult and lead a resistance to bring peace to Hope County. Far Cry 5 includes even more customization and new weapons then Far Cry 4 and I would definitely consider this a great game.

Grand Theft Auto V
I don't know if you've heard of this one, it's pretty obscure. Anyway, everything is here: from riding BMXes to playing darts... just a shame we can't do both at once.
Grand Theft Auto V is possibly the greatest game of the decade. With over 400 hours on it myself I feel I have experienced a lot of the game but at the same time there are still many things to experience. With a bit of everything this game tells the story of going from broke to billionaire in the beautiful city of Los Santos. Whether your having a shootout on the top of a mountain or spinning a 2 million dollar super car through the alleyways of the city, this game is always enjoyable.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Assassin's Creed might not be everyone's first thought when it comes to sandbox play but I've had hours of fun messing with enemy AI in taking out forts in Odyssey. The freedom it allows you and the fun skills available are something special.
Assassins Creed Odyssey is the best looking, biggest and most action packed assassins creed game yet. With new epic adventures and side quests you could get lost in ubisoft's Greek world for hours. Make your way from outcast to Greek hero as either Alexios or Kassandra. befriend and fight famous ancient figures and battle crazy beasts like medusa in your quest for the pieces of Eden. I honestly loved everything about this game and would love to see it come to PS5.
